NYC Hotel Reviews for Hotel Wales

"Good hotel”

Excellent emplacement, close to central Park. 40 minutes walking to Times Square, good connection with bus and subway. A little bit old which is compensated with the price. Coffee included 24 hours and there is also a terrace in the roof to relax.

“Great Classic Hotel”
We recently stayed at Hotel Wales on the upper east side of Manhattan. It is a lovely old hotel with nice updated rooms. The room was very clean and roomy for an old hotel. If you like the charm of historic hotels this is a great find.

“Great location - good value for the money”
I travelled with two teenage grandchildren and was looking for an authentic "old school" hotel experience- not the same old same old Marriott or Travelogue. The Wales is as charming as its photos. Our room, a junior suite, was perfect for the three of us, with enough space for Gramps to chill while grandkids watched TV. Of course the main reason for our trip was to see NY (Harry Potter shows- loved them) so we did not spend much time there. But it was a welcome "home" after our busy days. The location is a huge bonus near Park and The Park - with lovely shops nearby. Lexington and 96 is just a few blocks away for the #6 to take you downtown. Staff friendly - AC good, clean and quiet. All in all great value for the money. Thanks Wales!

“Great hotel!”
This is a precious hotel with an old New York feel. As soon as you walk in the friendly staff greets you and makes you feel at home. There was a problem with our original room so we were moved to another smaller room for the 1st night. We originally booked a suite with 2 double beds. The new room had a king and a double pullout in located in a separate seating area. We ended up keeping for the whole week. It was perfect and the view of Central Park was beautiful. The staff was awesome the whole time. Just a great experience in a great hotel in a great neighborhood!!!

“Excellent”
Great stay for wifey and myself. Affordable, but classy. The rooms were great and staff was very helpful. Easy uber/cab ride to anywhere in the city. We would definitely love to come back in the near future.

“Great quiet comfortable place”
This place might look a bit worn from the outside but I’d stay there again in a minute. Here’s why:
Quiet - the quietest hotel I’ve ever stayed with.
Comfortable - the biggest, most comfortable king mattress my wife and I have ever shared.
Staff - friendly and treat you like family.
Amenities - delightful mezzanine area with complimentary coffee and a nice computer area.
Location - one block off Central Park. A short walk to the subway at 96th and Lex. Easy walk to Hewitt Cooper and the Gug. Surrounded by cool restaurants and wine bars.
Environment - Away from the chaos and noise of Midtown yet accessible to all attractions.
We’ll be back.

“Fantastic”
The Hotel Wales is such a wonderful hotel. The neighborhood is the best in the city for a relaxing stay. You can go for a walk to anything you want and don't have the hustle and bustle of midtown I recommend it highly.
